The overall build of the Camon 11 Pro is classy. On the first view, you would be thrilled by this form factor. It is made of polycarbonate material, which helps keep the weight at 158g. Dimensions are at 156.65 x 75.95 x 5.6mm. It also sports a capacitive always-on rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Below the dual camera setup lies the flash sensor for enhanced night shots
The notch display has been trending, and it’s no surprise Tecno has implemented it here. It’s a 6.2 HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. This is 2019, so an FHD panel is what we would have come to expect. However, that’s what we get. The screen-to-body ratio is 87%, and bezels are minimal. There is also no word on the type of protection used, and an 87.5% screen-to-body ratio.
As is the case of all devices of the Camon Subseries, the Camon 11 pro is focused on photography. The 16MP + 5MP dual rear camera ensures that the Camon 11 pro also takes excellent shots since the 5mp camera acts as a depth sensor. It is also equipped with a 24MP selfie camera with AI-enabled features. There is an enhanced beauty mode, and HDR has been improved.
Tecno has a long history with MediaTek processors, which is no different. It is powered by the Helio P22 2.0Ghz octa-core processor (code name MT6762) based on the 12nm FinFET production process. The processor still has the Cortex A53 big-little setup. This should be capable of everyday tasks and casual gaming.
Onboard storage is 64GB which can be expanded using an SD card up to 256Gb. The ram is 6GB combined with a Power VR GE8320 GPU, which will handle all heavy apps and games. This should be ok for selfie lovers.
The Camon 11 runs on HiOS 4.1, Tecno’s custom software based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Tecno has added AR Emoji, which creates dynamic cartoon-like images by combining human and visual expression. Honestly, android 9.0 pie was what we would have loved on board. But the custom UI should have many other features to enhance the overall experience. Combined with a 3750mAh battery, all this should provide a good screen on time.
The Tecno 11 pro comes with dual sim support. 4G LTE can be enabled on both slots. WiFI is included with a 2.4GHz range together with Bluetooth 5.0. The 3.5mm headphone jack is retained, and this is good news. Sadly, the phone still uses a micro USB. A type C port would have been better.
